Nestled in a deep valley, malaria-free Sabie is a very pretty town, catering for the whole family. Situated in the center of one of the largest man-made forests in the world, the banks of streams are covered with beautiful wild flowers and ferns. Bridal Veil  Falls, Lone Creek Waterfall, Forest Falls, and the Horseshoe Falls are in close proximity to the town. The town was originally called Grootfontein as the region is surrounded by numerous springs, fountains, and waterfalls.

Through the years Sabie has evolved into a favourite tourist destination as all main attractions are situated close by and eco-tourism and adventure can best be experienced here.

Close to Pilgrim’s Rest, Graskop, Hazyview, the Kruger National Park and Blyde River Canyon, Sabie will be a good choice for any holidaymaker.

It is an easy days drive to see the Blyde River Canyon (80 km) the third largest canyon in the world (after the Grand Canyon in America and the Fish River Canyon in Namibia) with the famous 3 Rondavels as the focal point which overlooks the river and dam below.
